Answers To Critical Business Questions
The Association fills an important information need by giving small, medium and large companies the information they need to operate in parts of the world with tremendous growth potential and limited information concerning tax, law and finance. This will encourage foreign direct investment in emerging and frontier markets and will result in increased employment, knowledge transfer, and improved standard of livings. The information goes well beyond the business opportunity or stock market context of many information services into the “nuts and bolts” type of information that cannot be found in any other place.
The Emerging and Frontier Markets Association is a private, members-only, resource for professionals involved with emerging markets from around the world who want to educate themselves, build their careers, and connect with others to share solutions to multinational corporate problems.
Emerging and Frontier Markets increasingly are becoming important for global economic activity. Emerging markets have been identified by recent fast economic growth. Examples are the BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India, and China), Mexico, and many of the Asian nations. Frontier Markets refers to countries poised to be the next group of developing nations to see an economic boom. Examples may be Colombia, Peru, Indonesia, Vietnam, Turkey, South Africa, Ghana, Morocco and selected other countries in Africa.
Many commentators expect that before long these markets could represent 46% of global GDP. Yet despite this great wave of expansion, for executives coping with the details of such investment including taxes, structuring foreign investments, M&A and joint venture strategies, consumer and employment rules, and environmental regulations, authoritative information is often very limited.
